About thirty years ago, I began quizzing relatives about family history. Trips to the Newberry Library in Chicago and the Family History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah, were extremely helpful as were many pilgrimages to cemeteries, newspaper files, recorders of deeds' offices, and so on.
